US research suggests a daily helping of spinach will boost your liver’s immunity to the effects of alcohol. If you don’t fancy spinach, kiwi fruit and asparagus are also excellent sources of liver aid.

Cut the likelihood of liver disease by eating 200g of yogurt a day. “It could reduce your chance of developing a fatty liver,” says Anna Mae Diehl, a professor at Johns Hopkins University, USA.
